The Popular University of Puppetry Arts (UPAM) welcomes puppeteer Ingrid Hansen, founder of SNAFU Dance Theatre, in connection with her show Epidermis Circus. The original creator and performer of this bold visual cabaret, Ingrid Hansen will join via videoconference for a specialized onstage conversation with puppeteer André-Anne LeBlanc, who now performs the role in the production. The discussion will explore the show’s stagecraft—camera work, mirrors, and live projections—as well as the less commonly addressed challenges of role transfer in puppetry, navigating transmission, interpretation, and technical virtuosity. The audience will be invited to take part in the exchange.
