Benefit - Jardins Secrets
Performance
Cocktail dinner
A benefit gala inspired by one of the very first universes of Où tu vas quand tu dors en marchant…?
Join us for a benefit gala inspired by one of the most iconic creation in the history of the festival : Jardins secrets by Véronique Côté and Steve Gagnon. Open to everyone, this evening of artistic performances will be accompanied by a cocktail reception and will be presided over by Philippe P. Huneault, alongside Anne-Marie Olivier as co-spokesperson.
Audience members will be able to explore the different floors of the Diamant, discovering eight secrets shared by the performers in unusual spaces throughout the building.
In 2009, as part of the very first edition of Où tu vas quand tu dors en marchant, Véronique Côté and Steve Gagnon gathered secrets from residents of Quebec City.
On the night of the performance, dozens of beds were set up in Parc Lucien-Borne. Audience members moved from one bed to another, sitting beside the performers, who would share a personal confession with them.
From this event and the collaboration between the two authors came the book Chaque automne j’ai envie de mourir, which brings together thirty-seven secrets inspired by the many individuals who agreed to share a part of themselves. Published by Hamac in 2012, the book was shortlisted for the Prix des libraires.
