THEATRICAL SAGA
Michel Tremblay, our universal storyteller, is one of the first playwrights to use Quebec’s dialect “joual” in his plays. This is how he brilliantly started our cultural affirmation. Whether you are familiar with his work or not, you cannot miss this fantastical saga. La traversée du siècle is the story of our Québécois mythology, the perfect combination of Tremblay’s plays and novels, presented on stage with no less than 20 performers, 75 characters and a whole century of history spread out on a 12 hour performance. Discover Alice Ronfard’s latest accomplishment, an hommage to three generations of women who built Quebec as we know it with resiliency and hope.
WHAT WE LOVED ABOUT IT
Tremblay’s characters are a part of our DNA. We all carry, somewhere inside of us, their hopes, dreams, challenges and catharses. It might be why this saga is so moving. We are overjoyed to present to the Carrefour’s fans this expectional event. One night only! A whole day in Michel Tremblay’s universe. Those of us who will be able to attend will say : I was there! It is more than an hommage, it truly is a celebration to which everyone is invited!
