3 AVAILABLE ENTRANCES

1. EAST entrance – 9155 Av. du Zoo (STAC parking lot)
☛ PARKING – Arrive early, spaces are VERY limited!

2. EAST entrance – Av. du Zoo
☛PARKING – Some parking spots available on nearby streets. Allow extra travel time.
☛ RTC BUSES – Get off at the Des Loutres bus stop (801 bus). Located about 500 m from the Av. du Zoo entrance (!!This stop is not wheelchair-accessible!!)

3. WEST entrance – Terminus de la Faune
☛ PARKING – Arrive early, spots are limited! 
☛ RTC BUSES – Wheelchair-accessible stops.
It should be noted that the West side poses an accessibility challenge due to a number of factors (slope, gravel, mud, etc.). For these reasons, you will need to be accompanied if you have impaired mobility.

SITE DESCRIPTION

EAST SIDE – La chance d’une vie | L’éveil des Oiselles Woupelaï
☛  Moderate distance between scenes.
☛  Slight to moderate slopes between scenes.
☛  Asphalt roads, rough in some spots
(We make sure to point out rough spots)

WEST SIDEDéracinements Sous le buit des hélicos
☛  Great distance between scenes.
☛  Gravel slope with steep incline between scenes.
☛  Gravel road, rugged in some spots
(We make sure to point out rugged spots)

We consider that this side of the park poses an accessibility challenge based on several factors, specifically for people with impaired mobility and with physical and visual disabilities. For these reasons, an accompanying person is strongly advised, if not necessary.

LIGHTING 
The course takes place in the evening from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.
We are installing additional lighting in the park. Bring your own lighting.

TOILETS
We have seven temporary toilets (Sani Bleu) located throughout the site. Three of them are accessible for people with impaired mobility. The park also includes a sanitary block (near the Woupelaï scene) with an access ramp and accessible toilets for people with impaired mobility.

☛  Let’s start with the EAST SIDE

We consider the east side of the park to be accessible for people with impaired mobility and with physical and visual disabilities. However, motorized wheelchairs and/or an accompanying person are advised.


First scene at STAC drop-off point

Warning Giant screen (LED light), bright light at certain times.

Stimuli  Low.

Stroboscope  No

Visibility  Show on 2 sides, on a stage and on a giant screen behind the stage.

Ground  Asphalt and grass. Part of the show is only visible from the grassed area.


Motorized wheelchair and/or accompanying person advised.

Warning Addresses the topic of femicide in Quebec. This scene can fill up quickly and restrict traffic flow.

Stimuli  Loud music, light, rapid movement.

Stroboscope  No

Visibility  Partial. Many available viewpoints.

Ground  Asphalt and grass.

Possible queue to access the scene. Priority is given to wheelchairs and strollers.

Warning Festive atmosphere. Strolling musicians. This scene can fill up quickly and restrict traffic flow.

Visibility  Partial. There are many available viewpoints, as there is no entrance per se.

Ground  Asphalt, uneven flagstones in places, slopes.

☛  Now it’s time to look at the WEST SIDE

We consider that this side of the park poses an accessibility challenge based on several factors, specifically for people with impaired mobility and with physical and visual disabilities. For these reasons, an accompanying person is strongly advised, if not necessary.

WARNING:
Distance of 700 m between the WEST and EAST sides. 0-3/4″ crushed stone path. Includes an ascent or a descent at each end.
Motorized wheelchair and/or accompanying person strongly recommended.

Warning The scene takes place in the Parc des Moulins wooded area. This is a 3 m wide, one-way trail, of which the first 400 metres or so are in the dark (we lend flashlights). A soundtrack accompanies the scene.

Stimuli  Loud music, light, fast movements, people running. Smoke effects, helicopter noises.

Stroboscope  No

Visibility  Partial (many viewpoints available at several stops)

Ground   0-3/4″ crushed stone path. One-way traffic.

WARNING:
Steep gravel slope (over 8%) over 500 m between Sous le bruit des hélicos and Déracinements. Motorized wheelchair and/or accompanying person required.
